My name is Nick Dawson AKA AtmoGuy and I am an Atmospheric Scientist in Boise, Idaho. My goal is to help anyone looking to expand their knowledge in anything weather or research related.
When going to college, my love for weather didn’t click initially, but when I realized that atmospheric sciences were an option I stuck with it, made a career out of it, and it ultimately became my passion. I started the AtmoGuy blog to share my passion and experience with others who also love the field, are exploring new things, or just have that one class that they could use some expertise in.
Throughout my career, I have published three first author papers and ten co-authored papers. I hold a bachelors in Atmospheric Sciences, a masters in Environmental Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences.
